Coy Sullivan NeSmith Sr., 78, died Sept. 26, 1997, in Obici Hospital.
Mr. NeSmith was a native of Statesboro, Ga. He had been a resident of Tidewater since 1952. He retired as a maintenance engineer from Maryview Hospital in 1980 and moved to 936 Kings Fork Road, Suffolk.
Coy is survived by his wife of 57 years, Audrey Bennett NeSmith; two daughters, Margaret N. Steele and Beverly G. Nuckles, both of Suffolk; a son, Coy S. NeSmith Jr. of New Port Ritchie, Fla.; also six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Roger D. Johnson. Visitation will be from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday in Harrell Funeral Home, Suffolk, and other times in the residence. Memorials may be made to Nansemond-Suffolk Rescue Squad, P.O.
