Timothy Charles McLawhorn, 41, of the 900 block of Edwin Drive, died Sept. 27, 1997, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Born in Elizabeth City, N.C., he was a member of Moose Lodge No. 1198, Lynnhaven Parkway. He was a carpenter for L&M Contractors.
Survivors include a daughter, Janet L. McLawhorn Hill and husband, F. Lee Hill Jr. of Virginia Beach; mother, Dora McLawhorn and father, Bob C. McLawhorn, both of Virginia Beach; a brother, Rahn A. McLawhorn of Virginia Beach; two nephews, Rahn A. McLawhorn Jr. and Darrell R. McLawhorn, both of Virginia Beach; two aunts, Nita M. Overton, Vida R. Dorn, both of Virginia Beach; and an uncle, James A. Merritt of Webster, Mass.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Kempsville Baptist Church by Dr. Kelly Burris. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. Contributions may be made to Kempsville Rescue Squad or American Diabetes Association.
