GALIOTOS JOINS CLARK & STANT: Tasos A. Galiotos, a commercial real estate and business attorney, joined the law firm of Clark & Stant. He specializes in the acquisition and financing of properties, commercial and shopping center lease negotiation and drafting, forming limited liability companies, analyzing title and title insurance issues and advising on the sale of purchase of small businesses. He has practiced since 1994 with Hoffheimer Nusbaum McPhaul & Samuels in Norfolk.
RICE NAMED SENIOR LOAN OFFICER: Brian M. Rice was named a senior loan officer at Prosperity Mortgage Company. He specializes in residential mortgage lending in the Great Neck section of Virginia Beach. He was previously with First Coastal Mortgage.

APPLIANCE DISTRIBUTOR CELEBRATES ANNIVERSARY: Evans Inc., a family owned appliance parts distributor headquartered at 451 Elm Ave., will celebrate its 45th anniversary Tuesday with a variety of events for the public from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. In addition to the Portsmouth center, the company operates stores in Virginia Beach, Newport News and Richmond, as well as a recently opened store in Roanoke. The company president is Dan Evans.

MARINERS' MUSEUM: Carol Capo has joined the development department of the Mariners' Museum in the new position of director, grants and research. She was supervisor for grant writing at the Newport News Public Schools. Kelly S. O'Neill, previously a graphic designer with Sir Speedy Printing in Hampton, was named a graphic design manager for the publications department. D. Christopher Barnett was appointed director of education. He was coordinator of community outreach for the Museum of the Confederacy in Richmond. Also, David Kohnen was appointed an assistant curator for the museum's collections department. He joined the museum's research library and archives staff in 1994. Beth DeHardit Richardson was named a part-time special events coordinator in the marketing department. She was managing editor of Glo-Quips newspaper in Gloucester.

TYLER JOINES GLENN & SADLER: Jeffrey S. Tyler, a civil engineer, joined the engineering and architectural firm of Glenn & Sadler. He will be responsible for project management and design, contract negotiations of municipal water and sewer utility projects, quality contral, and budgeting. Tyler was a project engineer with Patton Harris & Associates in Virginia Beach.
