GEORGE C. SNYDER

George Carl ``Nick'' Snyder of the 21200 block of Roff Lane, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 1997 at his residence.

Mr. Snyder was a native of Isle of Wight County and a retired shipfitter foreman from Norfolk Naval Shipyard with 22 years of service. He was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, Suffolk, Khedive Shrine Temple Horse Patrol, Portsmouth Scottish Rite Bodies, Nansemond Masonic Lodge (NU)77 AF & AM, American Quarter Horse Association and Airfield Horse Lovers Association, and was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Vietnam.

Survivors include his wife, Dolly T. Snyder; a daughter, Nicole T. Snyder of Smithfield; a son, Brian Carl Snyder, U.S. Army, Aberdeen, Md. Proving Ground; a sister, Gale Rouse of Fort Pierce, Fla.; and a brother, David Harvell of Toano, Va.

A graveside service with Masonic rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, Suffolk, with the Rev. John M. Brackin III officiating. The family will receive friends at Colonial Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today and suggest memorial contributions be made to the Shriners' Crippled Children's Hospital.
