ERNEST Y. WILKINS

Ernest Yates Wilkins, 62, of the 4500 block of Peek Trail, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 1997, in his residence.

A native of Nansemond County, he had retired from Glanville Iron Works as a steel fabricator. He was a member of Indianna United Methodist Church and Lake Drummond Masonic Lodge No. 178 AF & AM.

Survivors include his wife, Bettye J. Wilkins; a daughter, Carol Brinkley and her husband, Larry, of Suffolk; and a grandchild, Cindy Gail Powell.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Larry Brinkley and the Rev. William Kube. Burial with Masonic rites will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
