Police have neither motive nor suspects in the killing early Sunday of a 21-year-old Portsmouth man.
Police arrived at the 100 block of Halifax St. in downtown Suffolk about 1 a.m. in response to a report that someone had been shot.
There they found Carl Shawn Turner of the 700 block of South St. in Portsmouth lying in a hallway. Turner, who had been shot several times, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The body was sent to the State Medical Examiner's office in Norfolk for an examination.
Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call investigators at 925-6350 or Crime Line at 539-1222.
