Miss Freda Bingham, 91, a native of Norfolk, died Friday, Sept. 26, 1997, at Greensville Memorial Nursing Home in Emporia after an extended illness.
Born Freda Phelps Bingham, she was the daughter of the late Frederick Ferrin Bingham and Margaret Phelps Bingham, of the 1800 block of Bourbon Ave. in Norfolk. She was a graduate of Maury High School and Longwood College, Farmville, Va. Miss Bingham taught for many years in the Norfolk School system and other schools in the state.
She is survived by two sisters, Lucy Morrow of Peyton, Colo.; and Emma Anderson of New Bern, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside memorial service at Grace Episcopal Church Cemetery in Purdy is to be scheduled at a later date. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
