ONA U. HOLLEMAN

Ona Sue Umphlette Holleman, 62, our patient, gentle and deeply devoted sister in Christ was called home by our Lord Monday morning, Sept. 29, 1997.

She was a native of Suffolk and a lifelong member of Cypress Chapel Christian Church. She was the loving wife of Harry Thomas Holleman for 43 years. Mrs. Holleman was predeceased by her parents, Floyd Riddick and Susie Brinkley Umphlett, her father-in-law, Harry Thomas ``Bobby'' Holleman and a grandson, Taylor Riddick Rice.

She will be deeply and sorely missed by her children and her grandchildren, including her eldest daughter and son-in-law, Sharon Holleman and Steven Rice, and their children, Kendall and Jordan of Kilmarnock, Va.; her youngest daughter and son-in-law, Beth Holleman and Roger Fanney of Holland, Va.; and her only son and daughter-in-law, R. Kent and Lori Bunch Holleman, and their daughter, Mallory, of Virginia Beach.

She leaves three devoted siblings to cherish her memory, F.R. ``Bump'' Umphlett and wife Becky, Lewis Carrol Umphlette and wife Bettye, all of Suffolk, Betty Umphlett Bane and her husband Woody of Halifax, Va.

Mrs. Holleman leaves behind a dear mother-in-law, Elizabeth Holleman and special family friends, Kim and Alex Ross and son, Micheal of Summerduck, Va.

A memorial of her life and deeds was held at 2 p.m. September 30 in Cypress Chapel Christian Church by the Rev. John R. Kimball. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Tommy and Margaret Simpson Scholarship Fund, 1891 Cypress Chapel Road, Suffolk, Va. 23434. Harrell Funeral Home provided information.
