William Hendrix Ownley, 76, of Route 3, Box 336, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 1997, in an Elizabeth City Hospital.

Mr. Ownley is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Ownley, of the home; a daughter, Linda Lou Seymour of Snow Hill, N.C.; a son, Wallace Nathan Ownley of Hertford; a brother, Julian Lee Ownley of Elizabeth City; and five grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Twiford's Memorial Chapel, Elizabeth City, by the Rev. Tony Collier. Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
