GEORGE H. HEILIG JR.

George H. Heilig Jr. 54, of the 7000 block of Cortlandt Place, died Sept. 30, 1997, in Norfolk.

Mr. Heilig was a native of Norfolk, and was the son of the late George and Frances Heilig. He was a graduate of Hampden-Sydney College and remained active in its Alumni Association. He graduated from The University of Virginia Law School Class of 1968. He was an attorney and founding partner of the Law Firm of Heilig, McKenry, Fraim, and Lollar, until his retirement in 1995. He was a member of the House of Delegates, District 86 for 26 years representing Norfolk. He was also a member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Norfolk.

Survivors include his wife, Danny Heilig of Norfolk; his daughter, Laura Marshall, and her husband, Jamie, of Norfolk; his son, George H. Heilig III of Virginia Beach; his sister, Jane H. Rostov of Norfolk; his brother, John A. Heilig of Virginia Beach; and his grandson, Parker Joseph Marshall.

A memorial service will be conducted Thursday, Oct. 2, at noon, at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd by the Rev. Ross Wright. Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the Association for Macular Diseases, 210 E. 64th St., New York, N.Y. 10021, the Hampden-Sydney Alumni Association, P.O. Box 86, Hampden-Sydney, Va. 23943, or to a charity of donor's choice. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
