WILLIE MAE SCOTT

Willie Mae Scott of the 400 block of Chapel St. departed this life Sept. 25, 1997, in a local hospital.

Born May 1, 1914 in Waverly, Va., she was educated in the Mecklenburg County School System. She was predeceased by her parents, Mary Evans and Henry Evans.

Survivors include three daughters, Lillian E. Dykes, Senora Williams, and Virginia L. Sawyer, all of Norfolk; four sons, James A. Scott, Clarence F. Scott, Joseph C. Scott and Thomas L. Scott, all of Norfolk; 40 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 25 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in New Hope United Children of Christ, 145 E. Liberty St., Norfolk, by the Rev. James W. Anderson. Burial will be in Jones Memorial Park, Virginia Beach. Family and friends will assemble at 426 Chapel St., Norfolk, at noon Thursday for the funeral procession to the church.
