HERBERT E. WATTS JR.

Herbert Ellis Watts Jr., 48, of the 100 block of S. Battlefield Blvd. died Oct. 1, 1997, in Hampton.

Born in Chelsea, Mass., he was a regional store inspector for the Southland Corp. He attended Atlantic Shores Baptist Church, and was a U.S. Navy veteran of Vietnam.

Survivors include two daughters, Jalene Dorris of Virginia Beach, Jennifer Melvin of Savannah, Ga.; mother, Mary Shephard Reynolds, and stepfather, Oscar Reynolds, both of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Mary Ellen Smith of Chesapeake, Regina Ann Doga of Texas; a half-brother, William Shephard of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; two grandchildren, Brittany Amber Dorris of Virginia Beach, Brian Austin Melvin of Savannah; two stepchildren, Darryl Harmon of Richmond and Kristie Cummins of Norfolk.

A funeral will be conducted at 5 p.m. Friday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, by the Rev. James Wolfcale. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends at the funeral home an hour prior to the service. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
