CORRECTIONS
The Ashland, one of four ships of the Guam Amphibious Ready Group that left Norfolk Friday for a six-month deployment in the Mediterranean, was inadvertently omitted from the tracking chart published in Friday's Pilot. Reprints of the chart, available next week for 50 cents per copy at Pilot locations throughout Hampton Roads, do include the Ashland.
Norfolk Navy ships preparing to depart on a Mediterranean tour were at Little Creek and along the Elizabeth River. In a story Friday, the word ``and'' was inadvertently dropped, making it sound like Little Creek is at the Elizabeth River.
A photo on Friday's Education page showed Webb University Center and not the Education Building at Old Dominion University in Norfolk.
A graphic in Friday's Hampton Roads section listing national liberal arts colleges in the third of four tiers, as ranked by a U. S. News & World Report study, omitted Randolph-Macon College.
CLARIFICATION
At a press event Wednesday, Bill Dolan, the Democratic candidate for attorney general, held aloft a cardboard representation of a $35,000 ``check'' from Pat Robertson made out to the Republican candidate, Sen. Mark Earley. A story Thursday failed to note that the check - with the memo ``Thanks for all your help!!'' - was a prop, not an enlargement of a real check.
