Marguerite Lingo Bright Corprew, 84, of the 700 block of Princess Anne Road died Oct. 4, 1997, in Chesapeake General Hospital.
She was born April 20, 1913, in Wardtown, Va., and was the daughter of the late William Vincent and Nannie Ennis Lingo. She was the wife of the late Mark H. Bright and Ernest L. Corprew. She was retired from the city of Virginia Beach Public Information Office with 25 years service. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, James Bright, and his wife, Anne, of Virginia Beach; a brother, Irving Lingo, and his wife, Rae, of Norfolk; a granddaughter, Julia Bright Hillegass, and her husband, Tim, of Smithfield; a stepdaughter, Gwendolyn L. Corprew of Richmond; two stepgranddaughters, Deborah Boomer and her husband, George, of Virginia Beach and Theresa LePere and her husband, David, of Roanoke, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Joseph E. Brewer. The family will receive friends at the home of her son, 643 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach. Memorial contributions may be made to the Creeds Volunteer Rescue Squad, 5677 Morris Neck Road, Virginia Beach, Va. 23457. Twiford Funeral Home, Great Bridge, Chesapeake, is handling arrangements.
