Joseph Alan Herron, 45, of the 200 block of Florida Ave., died Oct. 5, 1997, in a Norfolk hospital.
He was employed by Seafarers International Union and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Monica L. Herron; his mother-in-law, Margie L. Skittlethorpe of Portsmouth; and a host of loving family members and friends.
A graveside service will be at noon Thursday in Quantico National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
