David Upshur Elliott, 80, formerly of Norfolk, died Monday, Oct. 6, 1997, in a Sun City, Fla. hospital.
Born in Peoria, Ill., he was a retired Army colonel and a veteran of World War II. Mr. Elliott was a member of Larchmont United Methodist Church, past president of the Norfolk Host Lions Club, Khedive Shrine Temple, life member of the Retired Officers Association and an avid golfer.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel Bauer Elliott of Sun City, Fla.; a daughter, Anne E. Gleischman of Milwaukee, Wis.; a son, David U. Elliott Jr. of San Marcos, Texas; a brother, Dr. Barney Jones of Bridgehampton, N.Y.; two sisters, Margaret Knox of Raleigh, N.C., and Mary Brewer of Fresno, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Forest Lawn Cemetery by Dr. Jerry O. Campbell. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Cox Funeral Home is handling arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
