DOROTHY F. MACON

Dorothy Flynn ``Dotty'' Macon, 81, of the 1000 block of Covington Lane, died Oct. 6, 1997, in a Norfolk hospital.

Mrs. Macon was a native and lifelong resident of Norfolk. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norfolk. Mrs. Macon was a graduate of St. Mary's Academy, class of 1934; Auxiliary Board of St. Mary's Infant Home; active with the Red Cross Motor Corp.; and member of Norfolk Yacht and Country Club.

Survivors include her husband, Cmdr. E. Carlton Macon, USN (ret.) of Norfolk; her sister-in-law, Celeste Macon Lowry of Virginia Beach; two nieces, Carol Alderman of Virginia Beach and Lynn Macon of London, England; a nephew, John Macon of Palm Springs, Calif.; and several cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday Oct. 9, 1997, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church by the Rev. John Dorgan. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery. A Christian Wake Service will be held at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk, Wednesday at 7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Infant Home, 311 Chapel St., Norfolk, 23504.
