Suffolk

Three restaurants were burglarized during September including: The Win Wok Restaurant, the Big Wong Restaurant and the most recent, George's Steak House, located in the 1200 block of Holland Road.

Entry usually is gained by breaking a glass door, often with a rock or brick. A small amount of currency usually is taken or, as in two cases, the entire cash register was taken and later found in a ditch.

Chesapeake

Between the evening hours of September 9 and the early morning hours of September 10, suspects cut the locks to five storage containers at a business in the 1900 block of Campostella Road.

These containers held new merchandise. The thieves made off with several cases of crystal dinnerware and dishes, numerous cases of children's clothing and women's bath robes and several cases of bed linens. The total value of the stolen items exceeds $17,000. Investigators have suspects but need more information to make the arrest.

Virginia Beach

On Nov. 6, 1996, at 7:45 p.m., Louis Anthony ``Louie'' Barone, a 26-year-old Virginia Beach man, was murdered.

He was found in his 1992 GMC pickup truck in the 100 block of Castilian Drive in the Columbus Station East Condominiums parking lot. He had been shot in the head. For over 10 months, Virginia Beach detectives have been following leads to the person or persons responsible.

Crime Solvers is asking for the anonymous caller who recently provided information on this case to contact Crime Solvers again at 427-0000.

Hampton

Surveillance video captured a March 28 robbery of the Comfort Inn located at 1916 Coliseum Drive. At approximately 8:30 p.m., a male entered the lobby and demanded money from the clerk. After obtaining money from the register, he ordered the clerk to lay on the floor and then he fled from the business. The suspect is described as an adult black male, with a medium build and a medium to dark complexion.
