Joseph Marvin Ferrell Bailey, 74, of Rivercrest Court, died Tuesday Oct. 7, 1997, in a local hospital.
A native of Wakefield, Va., he was retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad after 40 years. Mr. Ferrell was a member of the V.F.W., United Transportation Union and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Helen G. Bailey; two daughters, Teresa L. Fly and Juanita B. Cutchin, both of Portsmouth; a sister, Rose Holt of Wakefield, Va.; five grandchildren, Crystal Armel, Allen Cutchin Jr., Danny Fly, Michelle Fly and Craig Fly, all of Portsmouth.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
