James Donald Hereford III, 45, died Oct. 6, 1997, in Fairfax, Va. of an auto accident.
Born in Bethesda Naval Hospital, he was a 1969 graduate of Princess Anne High School, Virginia Beach. He attended Randolph-Macon College from 1971 to 1973 and Anne Arundel Community College, and earned a NOVA associate's degree. He was a retired bulk mail distributor for the U.S. Postal Service, Hamco, Baltimore and attended Faith Community Church. He was an Eagle Scout and a ``soccer dad.'' His hobbies included computers, coins, model trains and horseracing.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Elizabeth; four children, Angela, Donnie, Karen and Jonathon, all of the home; his father, J.D. Hereford of Virginia Beach; his great-grandmother, Mary Hereford of Denver, Colo.; two sisters, Nancy Kissel of Chesapeake and Patricia Boward of Alexandria, Va.; and two grandchildren.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Hardesty Funeral Home, Gambrill. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home. Interment will be in Glen Haven Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Hereford Children Educational Trust Fund, c/o The Bank of Glen Burnie, P.O. Box 215, Crownsville, Md. 21032.
