BERTHA L. MEEKS

Bertha Lee Meeks, 83, a resident of Harbour Pointe Medical and Rehabilitation Center, died Friday, Oct. 3, 1997.

Mrs. Meeks was a native of Wilson County, N.C., and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lee Meeks and her son, Cecil E. Meeks.

Survivors include four daughters, Peggy Holloman of Rocky Mount, N.C., Nancy Hall of Zebulon, N.C., Patricia Worrel of Portsmouth, and Lynda Faye Stilwell of Norfolk; three sons, Leroy Meeks of Emporia, Garland R. ``Bud'' Meeks of Chesapeake, and Alton Ray ``Butch'' Meeks of Sunbury, N.C.; two sisters and four brothers, all of North Carolina; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Olive Branch Cemetery by the Rev. Warren Chapman. Altmeyer Funeral Home, Virginia Beach, is handling arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
