Gloria Dowdy Meeks, 72, passed away Oct. 8, 1997, in Maryview Nursing Care Center after a long illness.
A lifelong resident of Norfolk, Ms. Meeks was the daughter of the late Beulah E. Dowdy and Thomas G. Dowdy. She had retired from Trailer Service and Refrigeration after 35 years. She was a Baptist.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Jeanne M. Twine of Portsmouth and Pamela M. Jenkens of Virginia Beach; two grandchildren, Robyn Twine Nieri of Columbia, S.C., and Shelton Twine of Virginia Beach; and three great-grandchildren, Pennington Nieri, Maigan Nieri and Patrick Nieri of Columbia.
A private memorial service will be held at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of choice.
Ms. Meeks devoted her life to her loving daughters and grandchildren. She left this world knowing how much she was loved by all members of her family. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
