Walter James ``Pete'' Bryant, 73, of the 900 block of Josephine Crescent, died Oct. 9, 1997.
Born in Craig County, Va., he retired in 1989 as an automobile loan officer for Sovran Bank. Mr. Bryant was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Memorial United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Moses Bryant; four daughters, Ginny B. Rhodes of Blowing Rock, N.C., Patty and Ralph Nelson of Chesapeake, Kathy and Jerry Hallal of Virginia Beach, Karen and Doug Duggan of Virginia Beach; a sister, Lucy Hurst of Roanoke, Va.; a brother, Grant Bryant of Elliston, Va.; seven grandsons, Jimmy Nelson of Chesapeake, Bryan, Chris and Eric Hallal of Virginia Beach, Jonathan, Matthew and Timothy Duggan of Virginia Beach and a favorite granddaughter, Melissa Mondie of Chesapeake.
A funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. today in Memorial United Methodist Church by the Rev. Joseph T. Carson III. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, is in charge. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
