ETHEL C. WHITFIELD

Ethel Clark Whitfield of the 2000 block of Warfield St., died Oct. 9, 1997, in Richmond.

Mrs. Whitfield was born in Norfolk County and was a member of New Hope Church of God in Christ, Norfolk, and its Senior Choir.

Survivors include her husband, Edward L. Whitfield; four daughters, Margie Whitney and Joyce Whitfield of Henrico County, Va., Gloria Johnson of Virginia Beach and Ethel Mitchell of Chesapeake; five sons, Harold Whitfield, Edward Whitfield, Woodrow Whitfield, Kenneth Whitfield and David Whitfield of Chesapeake; two sisters, Gladys Savage and Doris Lamb of Portsmouth; two brothers, the Rev. Dr. Herman Clark of Virginia Beach and Earl Clark of Harrisonburg, Va.; 15 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and many other surviving relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in New Hope Church of God in Christ, 3232 Brest Ave., by the Rev. Dr. Herman Clark. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. The family will be at 2413 Strawberry Lane, Chesapeake. Fitchett Funeral Home is in charge. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
