With the summer crowds long gone, Zola Lancaster, 67, right, waits

as her husband, Lowell, 61, uses a metal detector to hunt for buried

treasure near Avalon Pier in Kill Devil Hills. Having found a key

and just one penny, they weren't on a roll. ``It's not profitable,''

Lowell Lancaster said. The couple is from Radford, Va.
