Bettie E. Gilliam, 83, of the 400 block of Rainey Court died Oct. 13, 1997, in Virginia Beach General Hospital.
Born in New Bern, N.C., she had retired after more than 30 years of service with Morristown Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Bethel A.M.E., Morristown, N.J.
Survivors include two daughters, Bernice Reed of Virginia Beach and Alice Jones of Morristown; a son, Howard Gilliam of Virginia Beach; a sister, Verdie Jones of Virginia Beach; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchild; and a host of relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in St. Stephen C.O.G.I.C. by Bishop Ted Thomas. Interment will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. The family will receive relatives and friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at P.G. Thomasson Funeral Services Inc. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
