DARRELL J. HODGE

Darrell Jermaine Hodge, 16, of the 700 block of Halifax St. died Oct. 11, 1997, on Berkley Avenue.

Born in Norfolk, he was a student of Lake Taylor High School, Norfolk, and a proud member of the Berkley Cougars basketball team, the Lake Taylor junior varsity basketball and football teams.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Faye Hodge of Norfolk; father, George T. Hodge Jr. of Norfolk; three sisters, Linda F. Hodge, Patricia R. Hodge, Audrey A. Hodge, all of Norfolk; two brothers, Michael E. Hodge, George T. Hodge III, both of Norfolk; his grandmother, Mrs. Audrey M. Nixon of Chesapeake, Mrs. Geneva Porter of Charlotte, N.C.; a great-aunt; an uncle; nine aunts; a niece; and a host of cousins and relatives and many friends.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in New Hope United Church of Christ, 145 E. Liberty St., Norfolk, by the Rev. James Anderson. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Family and friends will assemble at 727 Halifax St., Norfolk, at 11 a.m. Saturday for the procession to the church. Metropolitan Funeral Service is handling arrangements.
