MARTIN L. PUGH

Martin Luther Pugh, 93, of the 1400 block of South Hwy. 343, Shiloh, died Wednesday Oct. 15, 1997, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

He was a native of Camden County, N.C., the son of the late Stephen N. and Isabel Forbes Pugh, and the widower of Iredell Leary Pugh. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Faye Chapman of Glen Allen, Va., and Shirley Grimes of Kill Devil Hills, N.C.; a sister, Lucille Wilson of Lumberton, N.C.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and a step-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, Dr. Stephen C. Pugh.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Twiford's Memorial Home Chapel, Elizabeth City, by the Rev. David Moehring. Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. The family will assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Friday. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to Wesley United Methodist Church or to the Stephen C. Pugh Memorial Fund, Albemarle Mental Health, P.O.
