Mary L. Chandler, of the 200 block of Hatton St., died Oct. 15, 1997, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Born in Gatesville, N.C., she was the widow of Rudolphus Chandler Sr.
Survivors include her nine daughters, Juanita Mitchell, Lestine Bowen, Bertha M. Cobb, Mary Maggie Chandler, Margaret Faulks, Delores Veal, Linda Blow, Monnie Eleay and Verlene Chandler, all of Portsmouth; two sons, Rudolphus Chandler Jr. of Portsmouth and Morris Chandler of New Jersey; 53 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Friday in Corprew Funeral Home Chapel, Portsmouth. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, Portsmouth. Viewing at the funeral home will begin at noon today. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
