CLARA T. POWERS

Clara T. Powers, 68, of Windsor Point Road died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 1997, in her home.

She was born in Picayune, Miss., the daughter of the late Maude Smith and Cullen William Thigpen. Mrs. Powers was a longtime member of Royster Memorial Presbyterian Church, and was formerly a member of Willowwood Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her beloved husband, W. Farley Powers Jr.; a daughter, Carolyn ``Missy'' P. Reed of Roanoke, Va.; two sons, William F. Powers III of Franklin, Va., and David Cullen Powers of Atlanta, Ga.; a sister, Jewel T. Miller of Springhill, La.; and four grandsons.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Royster Memorial Presbyterian Church by Dr. John R. Monroe and Rev. Frank E. Drake. Burial will be private in Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Samaritan Fund of Royster Memorial Presbyterian Church. Cox Funeral Home is handling arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
