H. JUDSON GRIFFIN

Harvey Judson Griffin, 73, of the 4200 block of Rivercliff Crescent East died Oct. 16, 1997, in a Norfolk hospital.

Mr. Griffin, native of Ahoskie, N.C., was retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a ship's hull inspector after 42 years of service. He was a member of Sweethaven Baptist Church, Portsmouth, and a Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Beatrice Liverman Griffin; a son, Wayne A. Griffin, and his wife, Esther, of Chesapeake; and two grandchildren, Amy O. Griffin and Wayne Alan Griffin II, both of Chesapeake.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Baker-Foster Funeral Home, Bennett's Creek Chapel, by Rev. Ernest Myers. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gideons International, Deep Creek Baptist Church Building Program, or the American Heart Association. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
