Nine Old Dominion University graduates plus two community leaders are to be honored today during the annual Founders' Day luncheon on campus.
Distinguished Alumni Awards have been announced for:
Curtis Cole Jr., bachelor's of civil engineering 1975, founder and president of Curtex Construction of Norfolk and Washington, and member of ODU's 1975 Division II national championship men's basketball team.
Joyce H. Trump, master's in urban services with a concentration in urban education 1976, superintendent of Suffolk Public Schools.
George L. Hanbury, masters of public administration 1977, city manager of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and former city manager of Virginia Beach and Portsmouth.
Ronald R. Budacz, masters of business administration 1980, chairman and chief executive officer of an electronics company in Colorado.
Dr. Richard C. Davis Jr., bachelor's in chemistry 1977, founder, president, chairman and chief executive officer of a biotechnical services company in Tampa, Fla., plus other medical-products companies, inventor of medical devices, and a former naval flight surgeon and emergency room physician.
Alan F. Levin, bachelor's in psychology 1967, president of a Houston law firm and co-founder of the Big Brothers Foundation in Houston.
William E. ``Bo'' Turner III, doctorate in urban services with a concentration in health services 1995, senior vice president and chief operating officer of a Tennessee health services company and teaches at Vanderbilt University.
Midge L. Wilson, master's in psychology 1976, professor of psychology and director of women's studies at DePaul University in Chicago, and author of books on race and women.
To receive the Alumni Association Service Award is Charles E. Rigney Sr., a 1979 graduate who is marketing manager with the city of Norfolk's Development Office and past president of the Alumni Association.
To receive the Albert Brooks Gornto Jr. Regional Service Award is Barry E. DuVal, president and chief executive officer of Hampton Roads Partnership and former Newport News mayor.
The Town-n-Gown organization is to present its Community Service Award to Ralph Nahra, director of analysis and research at Supreme Allied Commander Atlantic and president of the World Affairs Council of Greater Hampton Roads.
Also, at 11:30 a.m., a statue of a lion - the mascot symbolizing the nickname ``Monarchs'' - is to be unveiled in front of Webb Center.
