Stanley S. Howard, 86, died Oct. 16, 1997, in a local nursing home.
Mr. Howard was a native of New York, N.Y. He was the son of the late Abraham and Deborah Howard.
Mr. Howard was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was with the Corp of Engineering as a SeaBee. He was also a Naval Reservist and belonged to the Professional Engineers Society of Virginia. Before retiring, he was a Civil Engineer with COMFAIRNORFOLK-OCEANA from 1954 to 1971.
Survivors include his wife, Noel E. Howard; two sons, Anthony Howard and his wife, Millie, of Cocoa, Fla., Dr. Dennis Howard and his wife, Carolyn Day, of Virginia Beach; one granddaughter, Devan Day Howard; one grandson, Logan Fitzgerald Howard; two sisters, Florence Schoenhut of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. and Rose Wolf of Boynton Beach, Fla.
Burial services will be private. The family will receive visitors at their home Sunday evening from 4 to 6 P.M.
