Nancy P. Kilb was appointed executive director with Convention Associates Inc. She will be responsible for business development and operations of the meeting and special event planning company. Kilb has been in hotel sales in Williamsburg for the past five years.
SUFFOLK
BELK TO CLOSE TAGS STORES: Two years after creating its ``Tags'' off-price outlets, Belk plans to close all 13 of them, saying they failed to meet sales expectations. Already, Belk department stores shuttered its Tags outlet in Virginia Beach's Hilltop section. The chain's Suffolk location also will close, probably by Dec. 24. Charlotte, N.C.-based Belk created its Tags division in 1995 so it could consolidate its Belk and Leggett outlet centers.

GSH REAL ESTATE MAKES EXECUTIVE APPOINTMENTS: GSH Real Estate Corp. appointed Patricia Lewis senior vice president and Ana Conant vice president. Lewis has been with GSH since 1978 and has served as a managing broker for 19 years. She has managed the company's office in Williamsburg since 1987. Conant, a marketing director, has been with GSH since 1994.
NORFOLK
ANDERSON NAMED AN ASSOCIATE WITH LAW FIRM: Todd D. Anderson was named an associate with the law firm of Heilig, McKenry, Fraim & Lollar. He will practice in the areas of medical malpractice insurance defense and civil litigation. Anderson is a recent graduate of the T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond.
ICELANDIC CARGO LINE OPENS NORFOLK WAREHOUSE: Samskip Inc. dedicated a 75,000-square-foot warehouse Saturday in the Norfolk Industrial Park. The Iceland-based shipping line will use part of the warehouse for packing containers for overseas cargo. The rest will be used as a commercial warehouse for commodities such as rubber and cocoa beans imported through the port of Hampton Roads. Samskip vessels call every two weeks at Portsmouth Marine Terminal.

AD AGENCY NAMES NEW GRAPHIC DESIGNER: Traci M. Manchester was appointed a graphic designer with Hambright Calcagno & Downing Advertising.
