MAXIE L. GARRETT

Maxie Lee Garrett, 63, of the 5000 block of Lewis Road, died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 1997, in Hampton Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Born in Greenville, S.C., he was a member of Laurel Avenue Church of Christ, Norfolk, and the Knights of Pythias Charity Lodge No. 10, Norfolk. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include a daughter, Chrystal Garrett of Amissville, Va.; three brothers, Eugene Garrett, Mitchell Garrett and Leonard Garrett, all of Greenville, S.C.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. today in Hampton V.A. Medical Center Chapel. Interment will be in Hampton National Cemetery at a later date. Lawrence B. Wood Funeral Home, Hampton, is handling arrangements.
