Frank Battle Jr., employed in Portsmouth for many years by a trucking company and NOB, died Oct. 16, 1997.
He was born in Rocky Mount, N.C., and was an army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include two sisters, Cherry L. Savage and Beatrice Wideman; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday by the Rev. Leon J. Boone in Fisher Funeral Home, Chapel, Portsmouth. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. The family will assemble at 181 Choate St., Portsmouth, at 9:30 a.m. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
