Catherine Matilda Liggins of the 1700 block of Weaver St. died Oct. 22, 1997, in her home.
Born in Norfolk, she was a member of St. James A.M.E. Church, Berkley, Norfolk, and its Stewardess Board, Pastor's Aid Society, and Missionary Circle. She was also a member of Broadlawn Senior Citizens Club.
Survivors include a sister, Elizabeth Poindexter of Louisville, Ky.; two nephews, Shelton Jones of Jacksonville, Fla., William L. McNeely Sr. of Chesapeake; a cousin, Flossie Jane Johnson of Chesapeake; two faithful friends, Mildred Caraway and Thomas Mullen of Chesapeake; many other surviving relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in St. James A.M.E. Church, Berkley, by the Rev. William Dyson. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Fitchett Funeral Home is handling arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
