Raymond Lee ``Spike'' Whitley, 75, died Oct. 17, 1997, in a Tennessee hospital.
Mr. Whitley was born in Portsmouth and has been a resident of Virginia Beach most of his life. Mr. Whitley was a member of London Bridge Baptist Church. He was a member and past Worshipful Master of Virginia Beach Masonic Lodge 274 A.F. & A.M.
Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Whitley Meeks of Virginia Beach and LaRue Whitley Cox of Norfolk; his brother, Robert E. Whitley of California and his aunt, Mrs. Annie Tingle of South Norfolk; and his nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Mr. Whitley was preceded in death by his daughter Charlotte Whitley Lawrence.
A memorial service will be conducted Monday in the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, at 7 p.m. and the family will receive friends until 8 p.m.. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
