Bessie Geraldine Lawrence of the 2400 block of Virginia Beach Blvd. died Oct. 26, 1997, in Lafayette Villa.
Born in Norfolk, she was a member of Freedom Church of God in Christ where she participated in the Missions Department and choir. She was the widow of Charles Lawrence.
Survivors include a nephew, Clarence Wilson of Norfolk; and a goddaughter, Gladys Brooks of Norfolk.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Freedom Church of God in Christ by Elder Francis Askew. Burial will be in Willow Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Chesapeake. The remains will be ready for viewing at 3 p.m. Thursday. Carlos A. Howard Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
