The City Council took the following actions at its meeting Tuesday:

CITY MANAGER'S REPORT

Adoption of six resolutions and an ordinance pertaining to the 1998 CommunityDevelopment Block Grant:

Resolution A: Adoption of a resolution approving Amendment No. 28 to the Crawford Conservation and Redevelopment Plan. Approved, 6-0; Benn opposed

Resolution B: Adoption of a resolution approving Amendment No. 8 to the Park View Conservation and Redevelopment Plan. Approved, 7-0

Resolution C: Adoption of a resolution approving Amendment No. 8 to the Mount Hermon Conservation and Redevelopment Plan. Approved, 7-0

Resolution D: Adoption of a resolution approving the Shea Terrace Conservation and Redevelopment Plan. Approved, 7-0

Resolution E: Adoption of a resolution approving Amendment No. 1 to the Shea Terrace Conservation and Redevelopment Plan. Approved, 7-0

Resolution F: Adoption of a resolution approving the 1998-2002 Consolidated Plan and the 1998 Action Plan and authorizing the City Manager to file documents to obtain the City's 1998 Community Planning and Development Grant Entitlement. Approved, 7-0

Resolution G: Adoption of an ordinance appropriating the 1998 Action Plan Funds of $2,226,000 in 1998 Community Development Block Grant Funds, and $58,000 in Emergency Shelter Grant Funds, and $818,000 in 1998 HOME Program funds, for a total of $4,817,000. Approved, 7-0

Adoption of an ordinance to appropriate $114,979 of the Program Income for HOME Program eligible activities in 1997. Approved, 7-0

Adoption of an ordinance amending Sections 8-40 (c) and (d) of the City Code pertaining to Water Service Connections. Approved, 7-0

Adoption of a resolution authorizing the City Manager to convey the City's interest in Randolph Street and Nashville Avenue to the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority. Approved, 7-0

Adoption of a resolution authorizing the City Manager to enter into such agreements as he may deem to be necessary and appropriate to the widening of Cedar Lane. Approved, 7-0
