Barbara D. Thomas, 65, of the 1300 block of East Little Creek Road, died Oct. 29, 1997, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mrs. Thomas was a native of Morganfield, Ky. She was the widow of John Wilbur Thomas. Mrs. Thomas retired from Pappy's Restaurant after 15 years of employment. She was a member of the Womens Auxiliary to the American Legion Post 327 for 20 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Harrell of Virginia Beach and Lori Thomas of Norfolk; a son, John W. Thomas of Brandon, Fla.; three sisters, Nola Thompson and Deborah Corbin of Clarksville, Tenn., Rita Duncan of Uniontown, Ky.; four brothers, Bill Girten of New Jersey, Doug, Steve and Ronnie Girten all of Morganfield, Ky.; four granddaughters, Jamie, Christina, Jennifer and Lindsey; and a great-granddaughter, Justine.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Forest Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. John Dorgan. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m. and at 1351 E. Little Creek Rd., Lot 22, following the funeral service. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk, will be handling the arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
