JOHN J. WITKOSKIE

John James Witkoskie, 83, of E. Bayview Blvd. died Oct. 28, 1997, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Mr. Witkoskie was born in Quincy, Mich. He was retired from the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Branch No. 60, Norfolk. Mr. Witkoskie was predeceased by his parents, William and Louise Witkoskie, and was the widower of Beatrice Vance Witkoskie.

He is survived by two daughters, Jean Holcombe of Annandale, Va., and Donna Vance-Herbig of Pensacola, Fla.; a brother, Benjamin Witkoskie of Bergenfield, N.J.; and a grandson, Michael Holcombe of Annandale.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Thomas of Canterbury Cemetery, Cornwall, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society. Cremation Society of Virginia, Tidewater Office, is in charge.
