JOHN R. REEM

John ``Jack'' Robert Reem, 63, of the 2200 block of Corbett Ave. died Oct. 31, 1997, at home.

Mr. Reem retired as a chief petty officer with the U.S. Navy after 30 years of service. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars and a member of Fleet Reserve Association Branch No. 60. He also retired from TA Sheets Mechanical Contractors.

Mr. Reem was born in Sunbury, Pa., the son of Anna Reem and the late John B. Reem. Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Elnora ``Nora'' Reem; a son, Richard Phelps of Portsmouth; daughters, Pat Sheets of Norfolk, Linda Massey of Chesapeake, Barbara Meyer of Norfolk; a brother, James Reem of Williamsport, Pa.; sisters, Donna Wenrich of Milmont, Pa. and Karen Reem of Northumberland, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three nephews and two nieces.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. John Mason of Trinity Baptist Church. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
