RUTH H. EVERETT

Ruth Howell Everett, 104, a lifelong resident of Suffolk, died Nov. 1, 1997, in Riverside Convalescent Center, Smithfield.

A native of Nansemond County, she was a daughter of the late Aseneth Edney and Mills Everett Howell. She was the widow of Elisha Lee Everett and was predeceased by a son, E. Lee Everett Jr. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Ruth Spivey, and son-in-law, Joseph R. Spivey, of Smithfield; a son, Mills R. Everett, and daughter-in-law, Betty Davis Everett, of Blacksburg; daughter-in-law, Virginia Everett Laine of Richmond; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m Monday in South Quay Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Charles W. Thompson. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4:30 p.m. today in the R.W.
