WILLARD H. KIDD

Willard Hunter ``Billy'' Kidd, 77, of the 1500 block of Jolliff Road died Oct. 31, 1997, in a local hospital.

He was a native of Mullens, W.Va., and a retired meat cutter. Mr. Kidd was a member and deacon at Lee Memorial Baptist Church and a member of Washington Masonic Lodge No. 58 and Charleston W.Va. Scottish Rite Bodies. He was an Army Air Corp. veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Kathryn B. Kidd; three daughters, Susan Welch of Varina, Va., Judy Carraway and husband, Jim, of Norfolk, and Dixie Cooper of Chesapeake; three sons, Willard H. Kidd II and wife, Annette, of Abingdon, Va., Philip Kidd and wife, Lee, of Dry Prong, La., and David Stroupe and wife, Nancy Hamilton, of Ohio; two sisters, Naomi Dozier of Morristown, Tenn., and Dreama Hayhurst of W. Palm Beach, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday in Lee Memorial Baptist Church by Dr. Ray O. Jones. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, and other times at 3324 Morning Side Drive, Chesapeake. Memorial donations may be made to the Building Fund, Lee Memorial Baptist Church, 2436 Gum Road, Chesapeake, Va. 23321. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
