Ruby Welstead Todd, 72, entered into the Kingdom of Heaven, Friday, Oct. 31, 1997.
She was a member of the Troutville Baptist Church, where she was a longtime teacher of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class. Before moving to Troutville, she was a resident of Chesapeake, where she was very active with the Cub Scouts and received the Special Den Mother's Award and was a member and teacher in the Youth Department of the Indian River Baptist Church.
She was a devoted wife and beloved mother and grandmother and is survived by her husband, O.A. Todd; two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Wendy Todd of Herndon, Lional and Kitty Todd of Midlothian; a sister, Lydia Knowles of Chesapeake; a half-brother, Jack Welstead of Newport News; two grandchildren, Robert Wescott Todd and Amanda E. Todd; and two step-grandchildren, E.J. Edelman and Kristi Edelman.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in the Troutville Baptist Church by Dr. E. Ray Frazier and the Rev. Olen E. Waldrip. Interment will follow in Old Dominion Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the Rader Funeral Home, Daleville, Va. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
