Mary Cherry Church, 82, died Oct. 31, 1997, in Chesapeake Health Care Center.
Born in Norfolk, she was a homemaker and attended Providence Friends Church for 27 years. She was the widow of George T. Church Sr.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Lee Smith of Virginia Beach and Marion C. Davis of York, Pa.; three sisters, Esther Whitson and Doris Wilson, both of Virginia Beach, Phyllis Capps of Las Vegas, Nev.; a brother, Robert E. Cherry; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, George T. Church Jr.; two granddaughters, Sherry and Susan Church; and a grandson, Timothy M. Davis.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, by Pastor Dennis H. Seaver. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in the funeral home. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
