JAMES W. HUDGINS JR.

James Wright Hudgins Jr., 83, of Route 1 died Friday, Oct. 31, 1997, in the Skilled Nursing Facility of Chowan Hospital, Edenton.

Mr. Hudgins was born in Gates County. The son of the late James W. Sr. and Mrs. Julie Brown Hudgins. He was a retired farmer and a lifelong member of Zion United Methodist Church. He was also a member of Gatesville Masonic Lodge No. 126.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Willie Sue Toms Hudgins; a daughter, Suellyn H. Riddick and her husband, Dennis, of Hobbsville; two sisters, Julia Brown Vogeley of Yorktown and Annie Odom Vernon of Evans, Ga.; two brothers, C. Warner Hudgins of Eure and Francis Marvin Hudgins of Loris, S.C.; and one grandson, Brannon Riddick.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Zion United Methodist Church by the Rev. Lisa Creech Bledsoe. Burial will follow in the Hathaway Family Cemetery at the home. Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, is in charge of arrangements. Friends may join the family at the residence. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
