LEN RINALDI

Len Rinaldi, 80, died Oct. 31, 1997, in his residence. He fought a long and courageous battle against cancer.

Born in Springfield, Mass., he had retired as a Master Chief after 30 years of service with the U.S. Navy. He had also retired as a local Realtor after 25 years. Mr. Rinaldi was a member of the Catholic Church of St. Mark.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn R. Rinaldi, with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage on July 12, 1997; a daughter, Suzanne R. Deans of Roanoke, Va.; a son, Anthony James Rinaldi of Chesapeake; three sisters, Anne Stagnaro of Agawan, Mass., Philomena Magagnoli of West Springfield, Mass., Angelina Bainbridge of South Hadley, Mass.; two brothers, Lucian Rinaldi of Longmeadow, Mass., Angelo Rinaldi of E. Longmeadow; three grandchildren, Jennifer R. Deans, Kristina Deans and Caitlin M. Rinaldi; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Catholic Church of St. Mark by Father Daniel N. Klem. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with military honors. A prayer service will be held at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, at 7 p.m. Monday, where the family will remain to receive friends afterward until 9 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
