LeRoy Jenkins, 79, of the 4100 block of Indian River Road died Nov. 1, 1997, in a Norfolk hospital.
He was born in Gloucester County, Va., and was a retired self-employed carpenter and painter. He was a member of Fairview Church of Christ and of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post (NU)4809 and was a Coast Guard veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Violet Rachel Jenkins; two daughters, Cindy K. Hamilton and Barbara Moody, both of Chesapeake; a son, Donald Keller of Augusta, Maine; a sister, Edith Thurman of Norfolk; a brother, Vernon E. Jenkins of Gloucester, Va.; a grandchild, Bret L. Kellihan, a student at the University of Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Fairview Church of Christ by Gerald L. Stemm. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral home, Indian River Chapel, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to Fairview Church of Christ Building Fund.
